Copper clad aluminum enameled wire is a new type of electromagnetic wire that uses copper clad aluminum material as the inner conductor. Its characteristics are between copper and aluminum, combining the excellent conductivity of copper and the lightweight advantage of aluminum. With the deepening of global economic integration, it has brought about rapid development and strong market demand in the information electronics industry, cable industry, and power industry. The increasing depletion of copper resources and the continuous rise and fluctuation of copper prices have forced domestic manufacturers and users to actively seek new conductor materials that can ensure product performance and reduce production costs to replace pure copper and reduce costs.

Copper clad aluminum composite wire was first introduced by Germany in the 1930s, and later promoted in countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, and France, widely used in various fields. The CATV cables in the United States began testing copper clad aluminum wires as early as 1968, with a consumption of 30000 tons per year.

The inner conductor of copper-clad aluminum enameled wire adopts advanced cladding welding manufacturing technology, which concentrically wraps high-quality copper strips on the outer surface of the aluminum rod core wire, and forms a strong metallurgical bond between the copper layer and the core wire. Combining two different metal materials into an indivisible whole can be processed by drawing and annealing, similar to processing a single metal wire. During the drawing process, copper and aluminum are proportionally reduced in diameter, while the volume ratio of the copper layer remains relatively constant.

Copper clad aluminium wire performs well in terms of physical properties and conductivity. The DC resistivity of copper clad aluminum wire (15A) is about 1.46 times that of pure copper wire; When the resistance length is the same, the weight of copper clad aluminum wire is about 63% of that of pure copper wire. Copper clad aluminum wire has the characteristic of "skin effect" in high-frequency signals, and its conductivity is the same as copper enameled wire when transmitting high-frequency signals (greater than 5MHz). In addition, the inner conductor of copper clad aluminum enameled wire has the characteristics of good conductivity, low density, softness, corrosion resistance, easy welding, and low cost.
